Update?

A week has already passed but I haven't posted anything new yet. Really frustrating, having the urge to write when I am working. But, in a few days I'll be back with the freshest updates. See yah later!

Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012

The internet in Philippines used to be censored-free. Not until President Benigno Aquino III signed into law the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 which includes the internet libel law. The free expression in a democratic country is now threatened.

Senator Vicente Sotto III inserted the libel clause. And among the 14 senators, only Senator Teofisto Guingona voted "No" to the Senate version on Third Reading of the Cybercrime Law. Are the bloggers threatened to become more cautious now?

For me, this is disappointing. We are entitled to the freedom of speech. But good thing there is a currently pending Senate Bill No. 3244 by Senator Gregorio Honasan, claiming to decriminalize libel.

The latest update relating to this anti-cybercrime law is the attacking of government websites by the hackers who call themselves "Anonymous Philippines." The MalacaƱang urged them to bring their protests in a proper forum.

My First Thoughts

Welcome to my blog!

This is probably my 5th blog account. I used to make accounts here in Blogger during my college years but my updates were rare at that time because of my studies. So I constantly end up abandoning the blogs and creating new ones because of forgotten passwords. Well at least I could still remember my usernames and still find them. Though those blogs were named out of nowhere, the posts were sometimes irrelevant and emotional.

I hope this new blog will succeed. :)
