Samsung Galaxy Round: Cool Curved Display

The Galaxy Round – a curved screen smartphone has been officially announced. This first of it’s kind smartphone features a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED curved display, 2.3Ghz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 3GB RAM, 13MP back camera and 2MP front shooter, and LTE-A support.

Design wise, the back of the device will follow Note 3 and Note 10.1 2014 style and feature a faux lether back, and as you can see on press photos, a whole device will maintain curved shape.

Samsung says that the design enables the large screen to be easier to use with one hand, the phone also packs couple of software enhancement that takes advantage of the unique shape of device screen and body.

With the Galaxy Round lying on a flat surface, the user can tilt one side of it up for a quick look at notifications and status, a la the Active Notifications in the latest Motorola devices, or use the tilt to control media – Samsung calls this feature a Bounce UX.

Device will be available in Luxury Brown Color (more to follow later) for South Korean Carrier SK-Telecom within the upcoming days, with a price set to 1,089,000 won – which is about $1000 USD.

The New $249 Samsung Chromebook

Techo locos, introducing the new Chromebook. The $249 laptop from Google. For everyone.

"The new Chromebook is a great computer at any price, but it’s an incredible computer at $249. It’s one of the lightest laptops on the market. You can easily carry it around all day—it’s 2.5 pounds, a mere 0.8 inches thick, with more than 6 hours of battery life for the typical user. And with 100 GB of free storage on Google Drive*, you can get to all of your stuff anytime, anywhere.

Even with its compact design, it’s packed with performance—it boots up in less than 10 seconds and resumes instantly. High-resolution videos (in 1080p) are beautiful to watch and when using the touchpad, you’ll notice smooth scrolling due to a hardware-accelerated user interface. And as you‘d expect from a Chromebook, it’s easy to share with others. Everyone—mom, dad, grandparents, tech lovers, tech haters—can have separate accounts where all of their stuff is kept safe. Finally, if you’re an active Google user of products like Gmail, Drive, Search, Maps, YouTube, Play or Google+ Hangouts, everything just works seamlessly."
